In the spring of 2014, I spent three weeks travelling throughout Peru with a group of fellow students and Spanish professor from my college in the United States.  We traveled, visited numerous Inca sites, trekked to Machu Picchu, spent time in Cusco, and studied Peruvian literature and history.  The rest of my traveling group started their trekking with the Lares Trek, but I was sick and only got to join them for the final day, which was on the Inca Trail.  We hiked the Inca Trail from the 104 km mark to Machu Picchu, seeing sights such as Winaywayna and the Sun Gate.  The following morning, we woke up early to catch the sunrise over Machu Picchu and enjoyed a day in the "lost city" of the Incas.  Read more about my travels on the Inca Trail and at Machu Picchu here and here.
